Description

Sandy Springs owns this property and has not been doing a good job maintaining it. The land is overgrown and continues to block the line of sight for residents trying to turn onto Hammond Drive from Hilderbrand. This is also a school bus stop intersection and it is very dangerous for the driver of the school bus, the kids, and the parents since the line of sight is blocked by so many overhanging trees, ivy and brush. The trees on this property are overridden with ivy and it is a matter of time before a tree falls onto Hammond, potentially causing an injury or death. We would like the trees cleared and the hill cut into to provide a safe intersection. My family took it upon ourselves to go out there today to clean up the trash and some of the smaller trees that block the view. There is one tree that my husband was not able to drag on to that corner property, so we would like that cleared. There is no reason why a resident has to take the matter in his own hands to provide a safe intersection for his family and neighbors. Shame on Sandy Springs.
